Local tribute act "The Doors of Deception"
is dedicated to recreating the sound of the Doors as accurately
as possible.
The band is fronted by Bob Bond, most notably
former lead singer for Desert Rain. Bond recruited some
of the area's best talent for this project.
Keyboards being an integral part of the
Doors sound, he's joined by Berkeley School of Music grad
Mike Dell. Since joining the band, Dell has "gained
a new respect for the music of the Doors and its complexity."
Lead guitarist John Kneeland (another Desert
Rain veteran) truly “speaks with his guitar,”
according to Bond.
Completing the rhythm section with the
musical chemistry only found between brothers are Bond's
sons, Zach, age 20, and Max, age 13.

Founder of the former Indie
emo band, The Sunday Drive, Zach's bass playing galvanizes
the rhythm section.
Drumming on a full-sized kit since the age
of 6, Max possesses a natural backbeat with an uncanny ability
to retain complicated arrangements.
The Doors of Deception’s recent gig
at the Desert Cafe in Danielson Connecticut was "the
biggest Thursday night ever," according to owner Jan
Goldstein.
Catch another big night with the Doors of
Deception this Saturday, Feb. 2 at Point Breeze in Webster.
The show starts at 8:30 pm and it's only a $5 cover. |
